TAG Heuer seeks an Automation and Machine Design Engineer in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland to lead robotics, vision and automation deployments across production sites.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Integrate advanced technologies (robotics, machine vision, automation) across TAG Heuer production sites, leading end-to-end deployment from requirements and specifications to commissioning.
  • Design bespoke special-purpose machinery tailored to the needs of the manufactures and oversee mechanical/electrical/software interfaces.
  • Optimize production processes to enhance efficiency, reliability and industrial performance, applying a cost/benefit/risk perspective to recommendations.
  • Manage projects: define scope, produce technical specifications, plan activities, coordinate stakeholders, supervise implementation and validate performance.
  • Conduct active technological scouting for emerging automation, robotics and vision solutions and propose pragmatic adoption roadmaps.
  • Train and coach shop-floor teams; lead change-management activities to secure adoption and long-term operation of new systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Maintenance and IS&T teams to ensure solution integration, maintainability and operational sustainability.
  • Travel regularly to Swiss industrial sites (Cornol, Chevenez, Tramelan) with initial focus on Cornol and weekly on-site presence as required.

Qualifications

  • Degree of technician or engineer in mechatronics, automation, robotics or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in special machine design and industrial automation within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven competence in automation programming and configuration for special-purpose machines.
  • Proficiency in CAD software; experience with Creo strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and to drive change on the shop floor.
  • Strong results orientation, problem solving mindset and interest in emerging industrial technologies.

Experience

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in special-machine conception and industrial automation, ideally within a manufacturing or high-precision production environment.

Education

Technician or engineering degree in mechatronics, automation, robotics or equivalent.
