Swiss Timing (ST Sportservice GmbH) in Leipzig seeks an IT Systems Electronics Apprentice starting Aug 2026 — vocational training in event-driven timing and IT systems.
Role & Responsibilities
- Learn to assemble, install and commission IT hardware and electronic timing systems for event environments.
- Install and terminate network cabling and support configuration of LAN/WAN components.
- Diagnose and repair hardware and electrical faults on-site; perform preventive maintenance.
- Support the configuration and basic troubleshooting of embedded systems, servers and peripheral devices used in timekeeping and broadcast graphics.
- Assist with set-up, test runs and commissioning during pre-event rehearsals and live competitions, including irregular hours and travel to event sites.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, cabling schematics and service reports.
- Adhere to electrical safety standards and company procedures when working on installations and live systems.
Qualifications
- Completed secondary-school diploma (Realschulabschluss) or equivalent; Abitur/technical school credentials advantageous.
- Strong interest in electronics, electrical systems and IT; good grasp of mathematics and physics.
- Manual dexterity and comfort working with hand tools and fine electronics.
- Willingness to travel, work irregular hours and perform duties at live sporting events.
- Reliable, team-oriented attitude with good communication skills; basic German language proficiency desirable.

Experience
No prior professional experience required; practical experience from school projects, internships or hobby electronics is an advantage. The position is designed as a vocational apprenticeship beginning August 2026.
