Swiss Timing (ST Sportservice GmbH) in Leipzig seeks an Electronics Technician apprentice (Devices & Systems), starting August 2026.
Role & Responsibilities
- Complete the formal apprenticeship curriculum for an Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, combining classroom instruction with on-the-job training.
- Assemble, solder and test electronic components and subassemblies under supervision.
- Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
- Carry out basic fault-finding and diagnostic tests using multimeter and oscilloscope; document test results and repairs.
- Participate in installation, maintenance and commissioning of timing, broadcast and measurement equipment at workshops and event sites.
- Support logistics and equipment preparation for national and international sporting events; follow safety and quality procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians in a fast-paced, event-driven environment and adapt to mobile/field work requirements.
Qualifications
- Secondary-school diploma (Realschule) or equivalent; technical secondary-school qualification is advantageous.
- Strong interest in electronics, electrical systems and precision instrumentation.
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail; experience with hand tools and soldering is a plus.
- Good numerical aptitude (basic maths and physics) and the ability to understand technical diagrams.
- Reliable, punctual and capable of working under time pressure; willingness to travel and work at events.
- Basic German language proficiency is expected given the German-speaking workplace and training environment.

No prior professional experience is required; the role is an apprenticeship designed for school leavers or early-career candidates seeking vocational training in electronics. Practical hobby experience with electronics or prior internship/workshop exposure is advantageous.
