Role & Responsibilities
- Complete the formal vocational apprenticeship curriculum for Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, combining classroom-based learning with on-the-job training.
- Assemble, wire and test electronic assemblies and components used in timing and measurement devices; perform soldering and PCB work under supervision.
- Diagnose faults and perform routine maintenance and repairs on timing equipment, measurement sensors and associated electronics.
- Interpret circuit diagrams, technical drawings and documentation to support assembly and servicing tasks.
- Support technicians in on-site installation, calibration and commissioning of equipment at domestic and international sporting events; assist with setup and troubleshooting under event conditions.
- Maintain clean, safe and organised work areas and adhere to company health & safety and quality procedures.
Qualifications
- Completed secondary education (Realschulabschluss or equivalent); technical-school applicants welcome.
- Strong aptitude for mathematics, physics and manual/technical work.
- Good manual dexterity, visual acuity and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel and work at events, including occasional irregular hours.
- Reliable, punctual and motivated to complete a multi-year vocational training programme.
Skills
Experience
No prior professional experience required; practical experience from school projects, internships, hobby electronics or DIY work is advantageous and viewed positively.
Education
Secondary school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss) or equivalent; enrolment in a recognised German vocational apprenticeship programme (Ausbildung) required.
