Swatch Group seeks a Watchmaker focused primarily on Omega, responsible for movement servicing, technical repairs, movement analysis, and preparing and assembling cases. The role coordinates workshop equipment, tools and consumables and ensures watches are ready to wear; the position is full-time.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform full movement servicing, including dismantling, replacing or repairing broken parts, cleaning, reassembling, checking and adjusting rates.
  • Perform technical repairs and service on Omega watches in accordance with brand guidelines.
  • Analyze movement issues and determine the appropriate repair methodology.
  • Use or develop suitable tools and processes to resolve issues arising during repairs.
  • Coordinate with the team to maintain smooth workshop operations, including maintaining equipment and tools and ordering consumables.
  • Ensure all required customer services are completed and each watch is ready to wear.
  • Manage the repair process from movement servicing through case preparation and assembly, including casing the movement.

Qualifications

  • For partial repairs, completion of a watchmaking apprenticeship or a Basic Certificate in Watch Repair TAFE course.
  • For complete repairs, completion of a watchmaking apprenticeship with satisfactory results.
  • For specialist repairs, specialist knowledge of complicated movements or satisfactory completion of a post-apprenticeship course such as WOSTEP (Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Education Programme).
  • Ability to service basic mechanical and quartz movements, as well as chronographs.

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 75,000 to USD 85,000 per annum.
