Role & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnosis, disassembly, cleaning, repair and reassembly of Omega mechanical and quartz movements to brand service standards.
- Regulate and time movements using electronic timing machines; ensure accuracy and reliability across complications (e.g., automatic, chronograph, calendar).
- Execute full overhauls and partial repairs, including replacement of mainsprings, jewels, hands, crystals and gaskets; perform pressure testing and water-resistance verification.
- Maintain meticulous service records, job cards and warranty documentation consistent with company processes and traceability requirements.
- Operate and maintain specialised workshop equipment such as ultrasonic cleaners, timing machines, stereo microscopes and watchmaker lathes.
- Adhere to Omega technical procedures and quality-control checkpoints; escalate complex faults to technical management or the manufacturer as required.
- Manage small parts handling and inventory for movements, components and spare parts; request parts and report obsolescence issues.
- Provide technical support to client-facing teams and, when required, mentor junior watchmakers or apprentices in workshop best practice.
Qualifications
- Formal watchmaking qualification (WOSTEP, Swiss Federal certificate, or equivalent) or demonstrable apprenticeship background.
- Demonstrable experience servicing luxury mechanical watches; familiarity with Omega calibers strongly preferred.
- Excellent manual dexterity, fine-motor skills and visual acuity for micro-mechanical work.
- Strong understanding of mechanical timing, escapement regulation and pressure/water-resistance testing procedures.
- Ability to read technical exploded diagrams and service bulletins; precise documentation skills.
Skills
Experience
Minimum of approximately 3 years of professional watchmaking experience; prior work on luxury Swiss movements and direct experience with Omega or similar high‑end brands preferred. Experience mentoring junior technicians is advantageous.
Education
Watchmaking diploma or technical certificate (WOSTEP, Swiss Federal certificate or equivalent) or completed apprenticeship in horology.
