Swatch Group — Watchmaker in Miami, FL. Seeking skilled watchmaker for assembly, repair and service of mechanical and quartz watches.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnosis, disassembly, cleaning, repair, reassembly and regulation of mechanical and quartz watch movements to brand quality standards.
- Execute complete overhauls and component-level repairs using precision tools and measurement equipment (timing machine, demagnetizer, ultrasonic cleaner, loupes/stereo microscope).
- Adjust rate, amplitude and beat error; fit and size bracelets and straps; perform pressure and water-resistance testing where required.
- Follow factory service procedures and technical bulletins; document repair operations, parts usage and service times in workshop systems.
- Collaborate with parts, quality and customer service teams to ensure timely turnarounds and adherence to brand warranties and service-level expectations.
- Maintain a spotless, safe and organized bench area and ensure calibration and routine maintenance of bench equipment.
Qualifications
- Formal watchmaking qualification (WOSTEP, ETA, equivalent vocational diploma or recognised apprenticeship).
- Proven manual dexterity, fine motor control and visual acuity for micromechanical work.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and quartz calibers, escapements, lubricants and watchmaking materials.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and follow factory service instructions with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong diagnostic skills and experience using timing machines, demagnetizers and pressure-test equipment.
Skills
Experience
Several years of hands-on experience servicing and repairing wristwatches, including full overhauls of mechanical movements and routine maintenance of quartz calibers; prior experience within a brand service centre or authorised repair workshop preferred.
Education
Vocational diploma in watchmaking, horology school certification (WOSTEP/ETA) or equivalent apprenticeship-level training.
