Role & Responsibilities
- Disassemble, clean, service, reassemble and regulate mechanical and quartz watch movements to brand specifications.
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on complications (chronographs, calendars, GMTs, etc.) and replace or fabricate small components when required.
- Conduct precision adjustments and timing tests using timing machines and other horological test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Execute quality-control inspections and document service history and technical interventions in line with brand procedures and warranty policies.
- Maintain and calibrate specialised watchmaking tools and equipment; uphold a clean, organised workbench and inventory of spare parts.
- Collaborate with after-sales, parts, and technical teams to resolve complex repairs and to support product improvement feedback loops.
- Provide clear technical communication to service advisors and, where applicable, to clients regarding scope of work, timelines and costs.
Qualifications
- Formal watchmaking qualification (e.g., WOSTEP, CW21, or equivalent) or diploma from an accredited horology school.
- Proven manual dexterity, excellent fine-motor skills and sustained visual acuity for microscopic work.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical and quartz movement construction, lubrication and adjustment techniques.
- Ability to read technical drawings and service manuals and to follow strict quality-control procedures.
- High standards of professionalism, confidentiality and adherence to brand repair and warranty policies.
Skills
Experience
Several years of hands-on experience servicing and repairing luxury mechanical and quartz watches in a brand service centre, authorised retailer service department or independent workshop; demonstrated experience with complicated movements is highly valued.
Education
Diploma or certification in watchmaking (e.g., WOSTEP, CW21 or equivalent) or equivalent vocational training in precision mechanics/horology.
