The Prototype Machinist programs and operates CNC machines to manufacture watch components and prototype tooling, supporting development and ensuring dimensional and aesthetic conformity. The role also includes machine maintenance and confidential prototype work; no contract terms are stated.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Program CNC machines according to technical drawings and production instructions.
  • Machine watch-case components—including cases, bracelets and microtechnical parts—in single pieces or small batches.
  • Design and manufacture tooling required to produce prototypes.
  • Provide technical support to development.
  • Ensure components meet dimensional and aesthetic specifications in accordance with drawings and finishing requirements.
  • Work with all types of materials, including precious metals.
  • Perform first-level maintenance on the machine fleet and keep the workstation clean.
  • Work in a confidential environment on prototype development.

Qualifications

  • CFC qualification in micromechanics or polymechanics, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Confirmed experience in CNC programming and setting up CNC turning and milling machines; proficiency in GibbsCAM is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of watch products, particularly watch cases and external components.
  • Fluent French; German is an asset.
