Role & Responsibilities

  • Select and apply appropriate abrasives, compounds and buffing wheels; adjust machine parameters and hand-finishing techniques to control surface texture and tolerances.
  • Perform detailed surface inspection using loupes and microscopes; detect and correct scratches, burrs and finish defects prior to assembly.
  • Maintain polishing equipment and tooling, monitor consumables, and comply with workshop maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Record production outputs and non-conformities, collaborate with quality control, plating and assembly teams to ensure continuity of finish standards.

Qualifications

  • Vocational qualification in watchmaking (horlogerie), micromechanics or metal finishing (CAP/BEP/Bac Pro) or equivalent vocational training.
  • Proven manual dexterity and sustained precision for fine surface work.
  • Knowledge of metals used in watchmaking (stainless steel, titanium, gold/alloys) and associated polishing techniques.
  • Ability to read basic technical drawings and follow written work instructions.
