Legal Counsel (Business Law) — Swatch Group (Tissot) in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. Full-time role advising Tissot on commercial and corporate legal matters.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide pragmatic legal advice to the Tissot brand on corporate and commercial law matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements (distribution, supply, sponsorship, licensing and services).
- Support corporate governance, compliance and regulatory matters relevant to product safety, advertising and market entry.
- Manage external counsel and coordinate litigation, arbitration and dispute-resolution strategies when required.
- Partner closely with business, commercial, marketing, supply-chain and finance teams to translate legal risk into commercial solutions.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the watch industry and propose mitigations and policy updates.
- Design and deliver targeted legal trainings and guidance for operational teams.
Qualifications
- University degree in law (Master of Laws, LL.M. or equivalent).
- Admission to the Swiss bar or equivalent legal qualification preferred.
- Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements with attention to commercial risk.
- Strong judgement, pragmatic problem‑solving and ability to operate across functions and cultures.
- Fluency in professional legal research and ability to manage external counsel and litigation strategy.
Skills
Experience
Several years of post‑qualification experience in corporate and commercial law, gained either in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department. Experience advising international clients or working with consumer products, distribution networks or luxury goods is highly desirable.
Education
Master's degree in Law (LL.M. or equivalent); admission to the Swiss bar preferred.
