Swatch Group, the world's leading Swiss watchmaker with 16 renowned brands across all price segments, seeks a Legal Counsel to advise its international brand entities and subsidiaries on diverse legal matters spanning intellectual property, distribution agreements, labour law, employment contracts, retail leases, and commercial litigation. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal guidance across production, marketing, sales, customer service, human resources, procurement, finance, and IT departments, whilst managing international projects and ensuring group compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Advise international brand entities and Group subsidiaries on legal matters across all business functions including production, marketing, sales, customer service, human resources, procurement, finance, and IT
- Review, analyse, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts across diverse legal domains
- Specialise in intellectual property matters related to watch designs and advertising campaigns
- Manage distribution network agreements and competition law considerations for brand entities and subsidiaries worldwide
- Handle employment law matters and negotiate retail shop leases in Switzerland
- Oversee or coordinate judicial proceedings, either directly or in collaboration with external counsel
- Ensure compliance with Group guidelines and standards across all business activities
- Collaborate with legal colleagues in international subsidiaries to coordinate legal aspects of major international projects, including new product launches, e-commerce initiatives, and IT solutions
Qualifications
- Fluent in French and German (native speaker in one, advanced proficiency in the other); strong working knowledge of English
- Proven experience with complex commercial contracts and international business projects
- Comfortable negotiating with international counterparties and managing cross-border legal matters
- Strong analytical and drafting skills with ability to independently develop legal solutions
- Ability to assess legal and economic consequences of contractual and commercial decisions
Skills
Experience
Several years of professional experience in corporate law or a commercial law firm, with demonstrated expertise in commercial contracts, distribution agreements, intellectual property matters, and employment law.
Education
Swiss lawyer's license (brevet d'avocat) or equivalent legal qualification; thorough knowledge of Swiss law required.
