Legal Counsel at Swatch Group, Biel/Bienne — Full-time in-house counsel position advising on commercial law, IP, and international contracts for Switzerland's leading watchmaker.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to internal departments including production, marketing, sales, after-sales service, human resources, procurement, finance, and IT on a diverse range of commercial and regulatory matters
- Advise subsidiary companies and foreign branches on distribution network issues, including competition law considerations, and prepare associated contracts
- Review and manage intellectual property matters related to watch designs and advertising campaigns; draft associated contracts
- Handle employment law questions and negotiate lease agreements for retail stores in Switzerland
- Manage litigation proceedings independently or in collaboration with external legal counsel
- Ensure compliance with Swatch Group guidelines across all business domains
- Analyze, draft, and negotiate contracts across multiple legal disciplines; develop independent solution proposals and assess legal and economic consequences
- Coordinate with colleagues in foreign subsidiaries to align legal aspects of international projects
- Collaborate with a motivated team of legal professionals on complex cross-border transactions
Qualifications
- Bar admission (Swiss bar or equivalent qualification)
- Several years of professional experience in a corporate legal department or commercial law firm
- Deep knowledge of Swiss law
- Familiarity with large-scale international commercial projects
- Comfort negotiating complex contracts with international counterparties
- Fluency in French or German as a native language; strong proficiency in the other language
- Working proficiency in French, English, and German

Several years of professional experience in a corporate legal department or a commercial law firm, with familiarity in handling international commercial transactions and complex contractual matters.
Education
Bar admission or equivalent legal qualification (e.g., Swiss bar admission); university degree in law.
