Swatch Group — Toronto: Data Integration Engineer role in Toronto responsible for designing ETL pipelines and enterprise data integrations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain robust data integration and ETL pipelines to consolidate operational and retail data across multiple systems and brands.
- Develop and optimize integrations using APIs, messaging systems and batch/streaming architectures to support reporting, analytics and operational processes.
- Collaborate with BI, data governance, product and application teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Ensure data quality, lineage and performance by implementing monitoring, observability and automated testing for ingestion and transformation workflows.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root-cause analysis and implement durable fixes and process improvements.
- Document integration patterns, interface contracts and operational runbooks; support deployment and release processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of professional experience in data integration, ETL development or data engineering within an enterprise environment.
- Proven experience designing and operating production data pipelines with strong emphasis on data quality and observability.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and at least one procedural language (e.g., Python).
- Demonstrable familiarity with cloud data platforms, APIs and messaging technologies.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a multinational context.

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience building and operating data integration/ETL solutions in enterprise IT environments, preferably supporting retail, ERP or POS systems.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent practical experience.
