Overview

The Swatch Group Netherlands is the national sales organisation for a portfolio of renowned Swiss watch brands within the Swatch Group, representing maisons such as Swatch, Omega, Longines, Tissot, Hamilton, Certina, Rado and Balmain. Operating from its Eindhoven office, the organisation combines wholesale distribution to jewellers and large retailers with a growing owned-retail footprint (brand stores and boutiques). The role reports into a professionally driven, matrixed organisation that aligns local commercial operations with Swatch Group’s global finance and governance standards.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Own monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and analysis for the Netherlands entity, delivering timely commentary to senior management.
  • Prepare budgets, reforecasts and rolling forecasts; track performance vs plan and explain variances at category, brand and channel level.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support pricing, margin and promotional decision-making across wholesale and owned retail.
  • Provide commercial business partnering to sales, retail and buying teams to optimise profitability and inventory turnover.
  • Support month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations and P&L integrity in line with group accounting policies.
  • Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and management packs for local leadership and Group reporting requirements.
  • Drive process improvements, standardisation and automation of reporting workflows; ensure data quality between ERP/retail systems and finance.
  • Coordinate with Swatch Group headquarters and external auditors for statutory and management reporting deliverables.
  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis for strategic projects (store openings, assortment changes, channel initiatives, promotional effectiveness).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent; master’s degree or professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, RA, CFA) is an advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven controlling, FP&A or commercial finance experience — ideally within retail, wholesale or consumer goods.
  • Strong track record of delivering management reporting, budgeting and forecasting in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to influence commercial teams and senior leaders.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and experience supporting month-end close and statutory reporting.

Experience

At least 3 years of hands-on experience in financial controlling, FP&A or commercial finance, preferably within retail, luxury goods, or consumer goods. Experience with multi-brand distribution, owned retail and wholesale reporting is highly desirable.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification or professional accounting certification is advantageous.
