Sisley Industrie seeks an experienced Packaging Operations Manager in Villebarou, France to lead 70-person workshop across two shifts with full P&L and HSE responsibility.
Role & Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage direct team, foster positive workplace climate, and develop personnel competencies through targeted training, coaching, and performance management
- Ensure workforce training and certification for all positions, health, safety, quality standards including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Implement and oversee HR initiatives including role definitions, individual appraisals, training plans, time management, and absence tracking
- Validate packaging workshop production schedules with scheduling department and monitor weekly staffing plans
- Ensure compliance with delivery timelines, escalate deviations, and adjust scheduling constraints as needed
- Arbitrate and allocate resources—human, financial, equipment, and scheduling—to optimize production execution
- Coordinate activities with support functions including logistics, process maintenance, quality control, and quality assurance
- Approve technical intervention schedules with process maintenance for corrective, preventive, and improvement actions
- Collaborate with quality control and maintenance teams to resolve production issues
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and pilot optimization tools with team autonomy
- Manage packaging workshop budget and participate in investment planning and capital expenditure definition
- Monitor and enforce performance indicators including throughput, productivity, and quality metrics
- Ensure strict adherence to quality procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and HSE regulations within the workshop zone
- Maintain compliance with company safety, quality, hygiene, and environmental policies and applicable regulations
- Champion documentation changes and modifications within production scope
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of workshop management experience in industrial process environments, preferably in cosmetics, food & beverage, or pharmaceuticals sectors
- Demonstrated leadership capability in operating team management and cross-functional project facilitation
- Advanced knowledge of industrial equipment and proficiency in technical decision-making and arbitration
- Strong understanding of procedures and operational protocols applicable to packaging operations
- Competency in problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement frameworks
- Familiarity with project management approaches and methodologies
- Proficiency with ERP systems and production supervision tools
- Ability to collaborate effectively with HSE, Human Resources, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Industrial Methods, and Continuous Improvement functions
