Reporting to the Validation and Projects unit within site Quality Assurance, the Metrology Technician manages the metrology equipment fleet and instruments subject to calibration or periodic verification, and serves as the main contact for external service providers. The role is a full-time fixed-term contract (CDD).
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage the metrology equipment fleet operationally and ensure schedules are followed.
- Perform metrology calibrations and verifications.
- Conduct and analyse trend reviews of measurement readings.
- Monitor external service providers, coordinate contacts, ensure services are delivered in accordance with specifications, and receive metrology orders.
- Analyse external reports against specifications.
- Create and update equipment lifecycle records.
- Approve verification reports.
- Process quality events, including anomalies and changes.
- Establish and maintain the required document system.
- Ensure cross-functional coordination within the Quality Assurance department.
Qualifications
- At least a two- or three-year post-secondary qualification in metrology, quality, physical measurements, instrumentation or an equivalent field, with successful initial experience in metrology.
- Technical knowledge of calibration for inspection instruments and measurement equipment, as well as standard inspection equipment.
- Ability to manage external service providers.
- Able to work as part of a team with rigour, reliability, organisation, autonomy and responsiveness; strong quality orientation.
