Shiseido seeks a Quality Control Coordinator for its Quality External Operations Group in Groveport, Ohio. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the coordinator oversees inspections and batch-record reviews for cosmetic and OTC products made by contract manufacturers, supports quality inspectors, maintains quality documentation, and ensures cGMP and FDA compliance. Role & Responsibilities
- Support department and organizational goals and objectives.
- Review contract-manufacturer products and make systematic release or rejection decisions.
- Log and label standard samples, coordinating with contract-manufacturer teams to obtain required standards.
- File and maintain certificates of analysis received from contract-manufacturer vendors and follow up with relevant teams to obtain missing documents.
- Coordinate and schedule contract-manufacturing workloads with External Operations Planning and New Product Development.
- Work with the Quality team to investigate customer complaints.
- Use statistical sampling tools such as ISO 2859, ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, or those specified in company SOPs.
- Train internal and external colleagues to ensure test procedures and work instructions are understood and correctly applied.
- Perform other duties as required or requested.
- Oversee inspection and batch-record review for Shiseido cosmetic and OTC products manufactured by contract manufacturers.
- Support quality inspectors in ensuring accurate documentation of finished and semi-finished parts made by contract manufacturers.
- Maintain inspection documentation, certificates of analysis, and standards; prepare daily and monthly reports.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, company policies, procedures and specifications, related company SOPs, and FDA regulations.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in a quality control environment, preferably in cosmetics or FMCG, with exposure to FDA and cGMP regulations.
- Two-year associate degree in a science or technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification is highly desired.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and statistics.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
- Hands-on experience with basic measuring equipment.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Ability to lift, stand, or walk continuously throughout the shift as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage large workloads and reprioritize as needed.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory direction.
- Initiative and self-motivation.
