The Maintenance Mechanic supports daily production packaging and manufacturing operations at Shiseido’s facility in East Windsor, maintaining equipment and minimizing downtime. The role covers equipment changeovers, repairs, preventive and predictive maintenance, regulatory documentation, and safety requirements.
Role & Responsibilities
- Set up and change over equipment as needed to support the daily production schedule.
- Troubleshoot and repair production packaging lines safely and efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventive or predictive maintenance on production filling and packaging equipment and/or bulk manufacturing batching (compounding) equipment, completing required documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Support efforts to measure and improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) for primary filling and packaging equipment.
- Communicate effectively with peers and management to support company goals and objectives.
- Support a safe working environment and maintain all safety certifications and training requirements, including lockout/tagout.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school graduate with training from a trade school, vocational school, or apprenticeship program.
- At least 7 years of experience in a GMP environment, such as cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceuticals, food, or related consumer goods.
- Mechanical repair background and advanced knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and equipment.
- Familiarity with packaging filling and assembly equipment; familiarity with bulk manufacturing (batching) equipment is a plus.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of basic machine shop equipment.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- Positive leadership and interpersonal skills.
