Shiseido seeks an Accounting Manager in Seoul to support the Senior Accounting Manager-Lead with financial reporting, closing, compliance, audit and tax activities, and to maintain and enhance SAP FI processes. The role also contributes to planning and provides financial analysis for operational and strategic decisions; successful candidates undertake a three-month probationary period from the employment contract start date.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Accounting Manager-Lead in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting to local management and regional headquarters, and ensure balance sheet and profit and loss accounts are thoroughly reviewed, reconciled and maintained in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Oversee end-to-end accounting and finance processes, including general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR) and cost accounting, ensuring accuracy and consistency across financial records.
- Manage monthly and annual financial closing processes in line with policies and deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, K-GAAP, corporate accounting policies and internal control requirements.
- Support internal and external audits and assist with periodic tax investigations.
- Prepare and review quarterly VAT returns and support corporate tax filings during year-end closing.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including variance analysis and management commentary.
- Maintain, optimize and enhance financial processes within the SAP FI module.
- Provide timely, accurate and insightful ad hoc financial data and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- 5–8 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a medium-to-large multinational organization.
- Proficiency in SAP is required.
- Strong written and verbal command of English.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant business applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
