Sephora Canada — Talent & Business Operations Manager in Nanaimo, BC. Lead store people and operations for a high-volume Sephora location.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage the people and day-to-day operations of a single Sephora store, ensuring consistent execution of company operational standards.
- Lead talent acquisition for the store: conduct final interviews for key positions, use the applicant tracking system to source and hire candidates, and onboard new Beauty Advisors.
- Partner with the Store Director and Education team to design and deliver the store’s ongoing training and development strategy for advisors and leaders.
- Own performance management for direct reports and the wider store team: deliver annual reviews, manage performance improvement processes and ensure timely, constructive feedback.
- Oversee store inventory operations including shipping, receiving, returns, cycle counting and reconciliation to company guidelines and timelines.
- Manage store staffing, scheduling, payroll and controllable operating expenses; analyze sales performance and staffing metrics to inform decisions.
Qualifications
- Two to four years’ experience in a comparable high-volume retail role (store-level people and operations management) or equivalent internal experience.
- Proven track record recruiting, developing and retaining retail talent and the ability to build high-performing teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience delivering training, conducting performance reviews and managing complex performance situations.
- Ability to perform physical store tasks: work in a fragrance-filled environment, lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform stocking duties.

Experience
Two to four years of progressive experience in store-level people and operations management within a comparable high-volume retail environment, or equivalent internal retail experience.
Education
Post-secondary diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, retail management or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from CAD 54,800 to CAD 68,500 per annum.
