Sephora Canada seeks a Store Operations and Talent Manager in Ottawa (Rideau Centre) to lead store staffing, training and operational excellence.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the store’s people and operational functions, reporting to the Store Director and partnering with Client Experience and Beauty Services Managers.
  • Own full-cycle recruitment for the store: conduct final interviews, source and select candidates using the applicant tracking system, and hire across all store positions including leadership.
  • Design and execute the store’s training and development strategy in collaboration with Education partners; manage onboarding and ongoing learning programs for Beauty Advisors.
  • Create and approve weekly schedules, manage time-off requests and oversee payroll submission to ensure timely, compliant compensation.
  • Deliver annual performance reviews for direct reports, manage performance improvement processes and ensure timely, constructive feedback across the team.
  • Maintain operational excellence: manage inventory processes (shipping, receiving, returns, tester and supply control, cycle counts) and ensure all procedures meet company standards.
  • Monitor store sales performance and controllable expenses (staffing, payroll), providing operational insight to optimise productivity and profitability.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of management experience in beauty, retail, or customer service, or equivalent internal experience.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting, staffing and hiring for all store roles, including leadership positions.
  • Proven ability to identify, develop and retain in-store talent and to build high-performing teams.
  • Strong managerial courage with the ability to conduct difficult conversations and resolve performance issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Word and Excel; experience using an applicant tracking system.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Experience

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from CAD 54,800 to CAD 68,500 per annum.
