Sephora Collection hiring Packaging Development Project Manager in Neuilly-sur-Seine; manage cosmetic packaging innovation from concept to production.
Role & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Marketing and Formula Development teams on new packaging briefs to ensure technical and financial viability while advising creative teams on design feasibility
- Work closely with Procurement to balance marketing requirements against cost targets and gross margin objectives
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessment studies and project feasibility analyses, including manufacturability evaluation, component and tooling costs, timelines, and consistency across product lines
- Manage new tooling development cycles, validate technical drawings, and define printing parameters
- Establish homologation plans and execute all necessary testing protocols to validate success criteria
- Lead comprehensive aesthetic development including color matching and decoration specifications
- Review and approve all artwork files and visual communications
- Oversee industrialization phase and attend line trials at contract manufacturers to ensure quality standards are met for components and finished goods
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to develop component and finished product specifications, approve quality standards and reference boards
- Validate tertiary packaging configurations and palletization plans for finished goods
- Monitor project timelines, provide regular status updates to supervisors and project managers, identify mitigation strategies, and ensure their implementation
- Identify optimization opportunities for existing components to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve sustainability performance
- Support corporate sustainability initiatives specifically applied to packaging materials and processes
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in technical packaging roles, preferably within the beauty or cosmetics industry
- Scientific Bachelor's degree in packaging, chemistry, mechanical engineering, or related discipline
- Capability to operate effectively within fast-moving project pipelines
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with pragmatic approach to identifying innovative solutions
- Strong interpersonal and presentation abilities for both verbal and written communication of technical rationales, risks, and recommendations
- Excellent English communication skills
- Willingness and ability to travel as required
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in dynamic, autonomous environments
Skills
Experience
Minimum 7 years in technical packaging roles, ideally within the beauty industry. Experience managing the complete product development lifecycle from concept through industrialization and production trials is essential.
Education
Scientific Bachelor's degree in packaging, chemistry, mechanical engineering, or other relevant discipline.
