Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of External Communications in developing and executing communications strategies and tactics to maximize earned media coverage and grow retailer sentiment
  • Develop media strategies and editorial calendars, coordinating storytelling initiatives including the proprietary newsroom, white papers, LinkedIn Voices, and leadership profiles
  • Plan and manage speaking engagements and interview placements for executive leadership, merchandising, marketing ambassadors, and other brand spokespeople
  • Lead day-to-day management of external communications agencies, providing strategic direction and overseeing press outreach execution for company and brand initiatives
  • Partner cross-functionally to evaluate, plan, and coordinate program focuses, deliverables, and relevant updates
  • Support issues management and reputation communications by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on response planning and crisis resolution
  • Act as primary liaison for internal communications, briefing teams on announcement programming, business updates, and Sephora news for diverse internal audiences
  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly cross-functional reporting and performance metrics
  • Manage the public relations budget, calendar, and marketing task list
  • Maintain brand representation aligned with company values across all communications and stakeholder interactions

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of public relations experience in in-house or agency settings
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with strong understanding of press relations and media strategy
  • Strong presentation capabilities with ability to communicate upward and laterally
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
