Sephora San Diego (University Towne Center) seeks a Licensed Beauty Advisor (part-time). $22.30–$25.65/hr.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional beauty services from Sephora’s Beauty Services menu, including makeup application, waxing and false-lash application, ensuring high standards of technique and client comfort.
  • Drive sales and appointment rebookings by recommending products and services tailored to each client’s needs and following up to build long-term relationships.
  • Maintain active licensure and adhere strictly to health, safety and hygiene protocols, ensuring compliance with state regulations and company standards.
  • Stay current on product assortments, beauty trends and application techniques; educate clients and teammates to elevate brand knowledge across the store.
  • Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative store environment and support operational standards to create a safe, enjoyable shopping experience for all guests.
  • Demonstrate reliability by meeting required weekly shift minimums and by being available during peak retail hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Active state license to perform waxing, makeup and false-lash application where services will be provided.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a beauty-services role or in retail, hospitality, or a client-facing service environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver personalized client service and to convert services into product sales and rebooked appointments.
  • Thorough knowledge of beauty products, trends and application techniques, plus the ability to teach clients effectively.
  • Team-oriented, dependable, punctual, and able to meet flexible scheduling requirements.
  • Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Experience

1–3 years in a similar beauty-services or client-facing retail/hospitality role; prior experience delivering makeup, waxing or lash services is preferred.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
