Sephora seeks a Licensed Beauty Advisor in Palo Alto, CA — full-time, hourly $24–$27.60/hr; provide makeup, waxing and in-store beauty services.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver professional beauty services at the Beauty Studio, including makeup application, waxing and false eyelash application in accordance with the services menu.
- Drive sales performance by recommending products, rebooking beauty services and converting consultations into purchases.
- Maintain an active state license for regulated services and consistently uphold health, safety and sanitation protocols.
- Provide personalized client consultations and build lasting client relationships through expert product knowledge and service follow‑up.
- Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive store culture and support store operations during peak retail hours (nights, weekends, holidays).
- Adhere to company policies and standards to ensure a safe, secure and delightful shopping experience for all clients.
Qualifications
- Active state license to perform waxing, makeup and false eyelash application in the state where services are performed.
- 1–3 years of experience in a similar role or in retail, hospitality or service environments.
- Demonstrated product knowledge across beauty categories and up‑to‑date awareness of trends and techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and clienteling skills with the ability to provide tailored consultations and rebook services.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality and ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Experience
1–3 years in a similar beauty advisor, cosmetology or customer-facing role within retail, hospitality or service industries.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; professional cosmetology/esthetician certification or licensed training as required by state regulations.
