Sephora in Palo Alto is hiring a Licensed Beauty Advisor (Part Time) to provide makeup, waxing and beauty services.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver professional beauty services (makeup application, waxing, false-lash application and other menu items) consistent with Sephora’s Beauty Studio standards.
- Drive sales and client retention by providing consultative service, recommending products, and rebooking appointments.
- Maintain active state licensure and adhere to hygiene, health and safety protocols at all times.
- Stay current on product assortments, beauty trends and techniques to educate and empower clients.
- Contribute to an inclusive, team-oriented store environment and support company policies that ensure a safe shopping experience.
- Be reliably available for scheduled shifts including peak retail hours (nights, weekends, and holidays) and meet required minimum weekly hours.
Qualifications
- Active, state-recognized license to perform waxing, makeup and false-lash application in California.
- 1–3 years of experience in a similar beauty services role or in retail, hospitality, or client-facing service environments.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver personalized client consultation and build lasting relationships.
- Strong product knowledge and a demonstrated interest in beauty trends and techniques.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (including nights, weekends and holidays) and maintain punctual attendance.
- Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Skills
Experience
1–3 years of client-facing experience in beauty services, retail, hospitality, or a related customer-service role; prior experience performing makeup and waxing services preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of a state-recognized cosmetology or esthetician program where required and current licensure.
