Sephora in Bethesda, MD is hiring a Part‑Time Licensed Beauty Advisor to provide waxing, makeup and false‑lash services.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver professional beauty services at the Beauty Studio, including makeup application, waxing, and false-lash services in accordance with Sephora’s service menu.
- Drive sales and service rebookings by converting consultations into product and service purchases and building long-term client relationships.
- Maintain active licensure and consistently uphold health, hygiene and safety protocols for all treatments.
- Educate and advise clients on products, trends and application techniques to enhance satisfaction and lifetime value.
- Contribute to store goals through punctual, reliable attendance and by meeting required minimum weekly shifts/hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Foster an inclusive team environment, supporting colleagues and promoting Sephora’s standards for customer experience and store operations.
- Assist with basic operational duties as required, including product merchandising, inventory handling and light stock movement.
Qualifications
- Active state license authorizing waxing, makeup and false-lash application for the location of employment.
- 1–3 years of experience in a similar beauty-services role or in retail, hospitality or other client-facing environments.
- Strong, demonstrable knowledge of beauty products, services, trends and application techniques.
- Proven ability to deliver personalised consultations and build lasting client relationships.
- Availability to work retail peak hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) and meet scheduling minimums for part-time roles.
- Ability to comply with health and safety standards and maintain service hygiene at all times.
- Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Skills
Experience
1–3 years of customer-facing experience in beauty services, retail, hospitality or an equivalent client-service environment; demonstrable history of selling and performing beauty treatments.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; cosmetology, esthetics or related certification preferred.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 21.75 to USD 24.88 per hour.
