Role & Responsibilities

  • Support litigation investigations, discovery requests, and responses related to privacy matters
  • Partner cross-functionally to identify, assess, and mitigate privacy risks across the business
  • Triage, investigate, and resolve internal and external privacy incidents while supporting improvements to Sephora's Privacy Response Plan
  • Assist with government inquiries, regulatory investigations, and privacy-related legal matters
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain privacy policies, procedures, documentation, and operational processes
  • Support privacy training initiatives and promote awareness of privacy best practices across the organization
  • Monitor evolving U.S. and international privacy laws and emerging regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with business partners, legal teams, and external stakeholders on privacy compliance initiatives
  • Conduct legal research and provide recommendations on privacy issues affecting business initiatives, marketing activities, and emerging technologies including AI
  • Support third-party privacy risk assessments and maintain accurate data inventories and records of processing activities
  • Investigate privacy complaints and recommend appropriate next steps

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting privacy, data protection, compliance, or legal operations
  • Working knowledge of U.S. and international privacy laws including CCPA, CPRA, GDPR, PIPEDA, state privacy laws, breach notification requirements, and online advertising principles
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with ability to evaluate risk and make sound recommendations
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively across legal, technology, and business teams
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation, drafting, and organizational skills
  • Experience working with databases, document management systems, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Adaptability, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning
