Sephora UK is hiring an IT Engineer — Retail in London to support store systems, openings and POS; hands‑on role with UK travel required.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure and commission in‑store retail hardware and software for new store openings and system upgrades.
- Provide on‑site hyper‑care and post‑launch stabilization to ensure retail systems operate reliably from day one.
- Act as escalation point for complex retail and Head Office IT incidents, diagnosing and resolving faults using structured troubleshooting methodologies.
- Maintain, test and update retail system functionality to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Coordinate with regional and global IT teams and third‑party vendors to ensure system alignment, source replacement equipment and resolve hardware/software issues.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to the IT Service Desk; author and maintain knowledge‑base articles and run training sessions for retail and support teams.
- Support technology projects and maintain accurate system documentation; travel across the UK for deployments, upgrades and support activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' hands‑on experience supporting IT systems in a retail environment, including store rollouts and in‑store technology support.
- Proven experience with POS installation and support and with store deployment processes.
- Practical experience in network patching and PXE image deployment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to train and mentor operational teams.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel across the UK for store deployments and support.
Skills
Experience
Minimum three years' experience supporting retail IT systems, including POS, store openings and hands‑on troubleshooting; prior project work delivering store deployments is highly desirable.
Education
Degree in IT, Computer Science or related discipline preferred; equivalent practical experience accepted. Technical certifications related to retail systems are advantageous.
