Sephora seeks an International Corporate Legal Counsel in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France for a fixed-term maternity leave cover role in the Global Legal Department.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage corporate housekeeping for subsidiaries, including approval of financial statements, amendments to articles of association, corporate appointments, and authorisations
  • Coordinate board meetings, shareholders' meetings, and corporate documentation for Group entities
  • Monitor corporate officer appointments and powers granted by the Group's corporate bodies
  • Manage exceptional corporate transactions involving foreign subsidiaries, including mergers, capital changes, disposals, incorporations, and liquidations
  • Draft and monitor intercompany agreements
  • Centralise and monitor ultimate beneficial owner (UBO) declarations across the Group
  • Oversee opening, transferring, and closing of secondary establishments in France
  • Contribute to the Group's international development projects, including legal feasibility studies and external growth transactions
  • Update Group databases and organisational charts
  • Support the digitalisation and optimisation of processes, including corporate portfolio management and contract management solutions
  • Provide operational and strategic advice on corporate law matters to operational teams including Finance, Strategy, and Senior Management

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Corporate Law, Business Law, International Law, or Contract Law
  • Dual qualification such as LL.M., DJCE, or Bar admission is advantageous
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a recognised corporate law firm or the legal department of an international group
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex matters and provide clear recommendations
  • Proven capacity to work effectively in demanding international environments
  • Autonomous, rigorous, and proactive professional orientation
