Sephora Canada seeks an Interim Store Director in Kelowna, BC for an 18-month contract overseeing sales, teams and store operations. CAD$82,200–102,700.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead all store operations to deliver an exceptional client experience, including sales, merchandising, inventory control and visual standards.
  • Drive store financial performance by forecasting sales and payroll with the District Manager, monitoring daily/weekly/monthly results and adjusting strategies to meet sales and profitability targets.
  • Recruit, hire and maintain optimal staffing levels while managing scheduling to meet business needs and budgetary constraints.
  • Coach, develop and evaluate department managers and leads; promote a coaching culture with regular feedback and quarterly development discussions.
  • Oversee human-resources functions for the store, including performance management, labour relations and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage merchandising decisions and inventory processes, conduct inventories, maintain accurate records and escalate stock issues to stakeholders.
  • Ensure operational compliance with Sephora’s brand concepts, safety standards and loss-prevention procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of senior management experience in beauty, retail or customer-service environments.
  • Proven track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams and of recruiting across all store roles, including leadership hires.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with experience analysing sales trends, managing budgets and achieving KPIs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and handle difficult conversations with managerial courage.
  • Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks required in-store, including bending, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Experience

At least 5+ years in senior retail or customer-service management with demonstrable success in team development, hiring, P&L responsibility and meeting sales targets.

Education

Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Retail Management or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and progressive retail leadership experience will be considered.

The successful candidate will be located in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, with easy access to Vancouver.

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from CAD 82,200 to CAD 102,700 per annum.
