Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the people and operational functions of the store, reporting to the Store Director and collaborating with Client Experience and Beauty Services Managers.
- Conduct final interviews and use the online applicant tracking system to source, select and hire candidates across all store positions, including leadership.
- Design, implement and manage the store's ongoing training and onboarding strategy in partnership with Education teams.
- Create and approve weekly schedules, manage payroll submission in accordance with regional guidelines, and control staffing-related expenses.
- Deliver annual performance reviews for direct reports, manage performance improvement processes and provide timely coaching and feedback.
- Oversee daily store operations and ensure consistent execution of company standards, including inventory management, shipping/receiving, returns, tester and supply control, and cycle counts.
- Monitor store sales performance and controllable expenses; identify opportunities to improve productivity and profitability.
- Maintain composure and exercise managerial courage in addressing staffing, performance and customer service issues.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of management experience in beauty, retail, or customer service, or equivalent internal experience.
- Proven experience recruiting, staffing and hiring for retail teams including leadership roles.
- Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing teams and to identify in-store talent for career progression.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Comfort managing payroll, scheduling and basic inventory processes; high level of organizational rigour.
- Physical ability to bend, stretch and lift up to 50 pounds; flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
