Sephora seeks a Human Resources Director in Istanbul to lead HR strategy for HQ and retail, driving talent, DE&I and organisational change.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the local HR strategy for both HQ and retail to align with Sephora and LVMH global priorities.
  • Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary HR team (HRBPs for HQ and Retail, compensation & benefits, payroll, HRIS, retail education) to deliver consistent services across the country.
  • Partner with the General Manager and executive committee as a strategic advisor, translating business objectives into measurable people plans and organisational design.
  • Drive talent acquisition, retention and internal mobility strategies, including structured talent reviews, succession planning and leadership development.
  • Oversee core HR cycles and operations—compensation review, performance management, learning & development (including Sephora University rollout), payroll and employee relations—with rigor and simplicity.
  • Champion DE&I, ethical standards and inclusive leadership across HQ and stores, ensuring HR policies comply with local law and cultural norms.
  • Lead organisational change and transformation initiatives, ensuring business continuity and positive employee experience during transitions.
  • Use HR analytics and employee listening insights to diagnose trends, prioritise interventions and measure the impact of people initiatives.
  • Act as the primary liaison with Europe and global HR teams for the deployment of international projects and programmes.

Qualifications

  • Extensive HR leadership experience — typically 15+ years — with progressive responsibility at country or regional level, ideally within multinational and matrix organisations.
  • Proven track record of managing HR for both corporate HQ and retail operations, including oversight of TA, compensation, payroll, learning and HRIS.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate as a trusted business partner to executive leadership.
  • Strong commercial acumen and comfort translating business priorities into people strategy and measurable outcomes.
  • Committed DE&I advocate with demonstrated inclusive leadership and high ethical standards.
  • Fluency in Turkish and English; deep knowledge of the Turkish labour market and legal framework; international exposure is an advantage.

Experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MSc) or senior HR certification preferred.
