Sephora - Formulation Project Manager (CDD) in Neuilly-sur-Seine: lead skincare & bath formulation projects, liaise with marketing, suppliers and quality.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Drive formulation projects for Skincare and Bath ranges from brief to industrial launch, ensuring technical answers align with marketing concepts and target formula performance.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Packaging Development from the concept phase to anticipate texture, performance and packaging compatibility requirements.
  • Partner with Purchasing to reconcile technical briefs with cost objectives and supplier selection.
  • Conduct risk assessments and feasibility studies, identifying technical or regulatory barriers early in development.
  • Conceive and supervise new formulas developed with subcontractors, guiding specifications and corrective actions to meet quality and regulatory constraints (including blacklist considerations).
  • Plan and coordinate internal and external testing programs (stability, compatibility, challenge tests) and interpret results to validate product robustness.
  • Manage industrialization and scale-up activities; attend production trials at subcontractor sites and ensure conformity with quality expectations.
  • Prepare and deliver formula specifications and regular progress reports to project managers, ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the cosmetics industry with demonstrable formulation expertise.
  • Degree from an engineering or pharmacy school (e.g., ISIPCA, IPIL, EBI, Faculties of Pharmacy such as Lyon, Châtenay-Malabry, Nantes).
  • Proven project management and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to drive decisions under time constraints.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative team player with stakeholder management experience.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.
