Role & Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of motorized and manual material handling equipment (powered industrial trucks, walkie rider, reach truck, hand jack, carts) to support picking, packing, put-away and replenishment.
- Attain and maintain required certifications for safe operation of material handling equipment and follow battery changing procedures as directed.
- Process orders using equipment and, when necessary, manually; operate RF terminals to support inventory control and company operating systems.
- Meet established company safety, production and service level standards while adhering to Company, state and OSHA safety rules and Loss Prevention policies.
- Maintain regular attendance, a flexible schedule and be available for designated shifts and overtime as operational needs require.
- Respond proactively to direction from shift coordinators and management, and provide high-quality internal and external customer service.
- Cross-train in other warehouse roles and assist Maintenance on projects that require motorized material handling equipment support.
- Work at heights (up to 32 feet) when operating reach trucks and follow required fall-protection procedures.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain required equipment operation certifications and any job-required DOT certifications.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to stand, sit, squat and walk for the duration of the scheduled shift.
- Comfortable working at heights up to 32 feet and able to wear required safety harness/lanyard.
- Detail oriented, flexible, able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in teams.
- Previous experience operating warehouse equipment preferred.
Skills
Experience
Entry-level — previous experience operating equipment in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred. Familiarity with conventional distribution processes (picking, packing, put-away, replenishment) is a plus.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
