Sephora in San Francisco (Remote, US) seeks an Employee Relations Investigator to lead complex workplace investigations and advise on employee matters.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough, impartial investigations into allegations of policy violations — including discrimination, harassment, retaliation and other complex workplace misconduct — across Retail, Corporate and Distribution Centers.
- Prepare clear investigative plans, collect and analyze evidence, interview witnesses and draft comprehensive investigation reports with findings and recommended outcomes.
- Advise business leaders and HR partners on corrective action, separations, performance management, policy interpretation, leave of absence and accommodation matters.
- Facilitate mediation and dispute resolution where appropriate and recommend systemic improvements to reduce recurrence of workplace issues.
- Stay current on U.S. employment laws, regulations and best practices to ensure investigative integrity and legal compliance.
- Support internal ER projects and initiatives and manage cases spanning multiple U.S. regions, time zones and business units.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years conducting complex workplace investigations, including investigations involving executive-level employees.
- Minimum 5+ years of HR/Employee Relations experience in both corporate and retail environments.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Juris Doctor and/or Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) credential preferred.
- Demonstrated executive presence with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven mediation/conflict resolution skills and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Experience
At least 5 years of progressive HR and Employee Relations experience, including 5+ years leading complex workplace investigations that include executive-level matters, within both retail and corporate settings.
Education
Bachelor’s degree required; Juris Doctor preferred. Certification from the Association of Workplace Investigators is a plus.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 99,025 to USD 131,765 per annum.
