Sephora in Shanghai seeks an E‑Business Demand Planning Manager to lead online forecasting, inventory allocation and SKU planning for the e‑commerce channel.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the demand planning process for a diverse, complex SKU portfolio to ensure core stock readiness and optimal sell‑through.
- Develop accurate demand forecasts using historical sales data and other relevant drivers; translate forecasts into inventory requirements by product type, category, brand and top items.
- Align online demand plans with commercial objectives through close collaboration with Merchandising, E‑commerce and Supply teams; drive contingency solutions against key milestones.
- Allocate inventory across online channels according to stock status and sales trends to maximise availability and conversion.
- Monitor online inventory health and deliver multi‑dimensional performance reports (stock structure, on‑shelf availability (OSA), sell‑through (ST), days of inventory (DOI), etc.).
- Identify OOS, low DOI and slow‑moving risks and opportunities from data insights and propose actionable mitigation or commercial plans.
- Continuously improve demand planning tools, processes and methodologies to enhance forecasting accuracy and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in demand planning, forecasting or supply‑chain planning roles.
- Proven experience managing complex SKU assortments and e‑commerce inventory for retail, apparel or cosmetics brands is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking with solid problem‑solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English.
- Demonstrated cross‑functional collaboration, ownership mindset and strong team spirit.
Skills
Experience
At least five years of relevant experience in demand planning or supply‑chain forecasting; experience within retail, apparel or cosmetics brands and exposure to e‑commerce inventory planning is a strong advantage.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification in supply‑chain analytics or business preferred but not required.
