Sephora Canada seeks a District Asset Protection Manager in Winnipeg, MB — hybrid full‑time role focused on multi‑unit loss prevention and investigations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, implement and monitor district‑level asset protection strategies to reduce shrink, prioritizing stores with the highest loss rates.
- Analyze shrink metrics and asset protection activity to identify trends, root causes and targeted corrective actions in partnership with District Managers and Field Leadership.
- Lead investigations into internal dishonesty, fraud and criminal activity using CCTV, exception‑based reporting, store systems and the internal investigations team; conduct interviews and develop cases for disciplinary or criminal action where appropriate.
- Oversee and execute store Operational Excellence evaluations and Asset Protection Programs, ensuring compliance with established procedures and readiness of physical security systems (CCTV, alarms, locks).
- Recruit, coach and develop Asset Protection Partners and Team Leads through regular 1:1s, team meetings and structured training.
- Deliver training to store teams and leadership on shrink awareness, loss prevention techniques and interview best practices.
- Coordinate and support physical inventories (annual or bi‑annual), conduct pre‑ and post‑inventory root cause analysis, and implement plans to reduce shrink year‑over‑year.
- Maintain strong working relationships with HR, District Managers and cross‑functional partners to align on asset protection, compliance and people matters.
- Travel routinely across the assigned district (approximately 80%) to support stores, conduct investigations and implement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive asset protection or loss prevention experience in a multi‑unit retail environment.
- Proven leadership and people management skills with experience coaching store and field teams.
- Demonstrated experience handling sensitive investigations ethically and effectively, including conducting interviews and preparing cases.
- Knowledge of criminal and civil law as it pertains to retail operations.
- Formal training/certification in Wicklander‑Zulawski interview techniques.
- Ability to travel extensively within the district (approximately 80%) and work in fragrance‑filled retail environments.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with asset protection applications and store systems.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
