Sephora Canada seeks a District Asset Protection Manager in Calgary to lead loss-prevention across multiple stores (hybrid).
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and oversee district-wide asset protection strategies to reduce shrink, with targeted programs for high-shrink stores.
- Analyze shrink metrics and asset protection activity to identify trends and prescribe corrective action plans in collaboration with store and field leadership.
- Conduct and oversee store evaluations (Operational Excellence) and formal Asset Protection Program audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Lead investigations into suspected internal dishonesty, fraud or criminal acts using CCTV, exception-based reporting and collaboration with the internal investigations team; prepare cases for disciplinary action or criminal prosecution when appropriate.
- Design and deliver training for store teams and leaders on shrink awareness, investigative interviewing, and loss-prevention protocols.
- Ensure proper operation, maintenance and utilization of store security systems (CCTV, alarms, locks) and coordinate physical inventories and post-inventory root-cause analyses.
- Recruit, coach and develop Asset Protection Partners and Team Leads; run regular team meetings and performance reviews.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with District Managers, Human Resources and other field partners to ensure cohesive execution of loss-prevention initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years progressive asset protection / loss prevention experience in a multi-unit retail environment.
- Proven leadership and people-management capability with experience coaching frontline and store leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive investigations ethically and confidentially; experience interviewing and securing admissions in line with policy.
- Working knowledge of criminal and civil law as it applies to retail operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interviewing, listening and interpersonal skills.
- Superior organizational, analytical and auditing skills with the ability to draft clear plans, policies and procedures.
- Willingness and ability to travel routinely within the assigned district (approximately 80% travel, including local and out-of-town locations).
- Formal training and certification in Wicklander‑Zulawski interview techniques (required).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
