Sephora Canada seeks a Director of Insights & Analytics in Toronto to lead data strategy and commercial forecasting across retail and ecommerce operations. CAD$148,600–$185,800 plus bonus.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of sales forecasting strategies and methodologies to support planning, budgeting, and business growth initiatives
  • Translate sales performance data into actionable insights on key business drivers including traffic, conversion, promotions, product launches, marketing initiatives, and competitive activity
  • Deliver executive-ready insights that inform commercial, promotional, loyalty, and client engagement strategies
  • Develop analytical frameworks that measure business performance, incrementality, and the impact of strategic initiatives on revenue and profitability
  • Lead market share, competitive intelligence, pricing, and performance analyses to identify growth opportunities and inform key business decisions
  • Define the vision, roadmap, operating model, and strategic priorities for the Insights & Analytics function
  • Build scalable analytics capabilities, reusable data assets, and automated reporting solutions to improve organizational decision-making
  • Establish governance frameworks, prioritization processes, and trusted sources of truth to ensure consistency and operational efficiency
  • Champion the strategic adoption of AI-powered analytics capabilities and partner with North American teams to scale innovative solutions
  • Act as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to senior leaders across Canada and North America, influencing decisions through data-backed insights and executive-level storytelling
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing analytics team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in analytics, business intelligence, consulting, market research, or related disciplines, including 5+ years leading high-performing analytics teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Business, or a related field (MBA or Master's degree preferred)
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into compelling insights and actionable recommendations that influence executive decision-making
  • Demonstrated experience building, scaling, and evolving analytics capabilities in retail, ecommerce, consumer goods, or other fast-paced, customer-centric environments
  • Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and driving alignment across diverse, geographically dispersed stakeholder groups
  • Advanced technical expertise in SQL, data modelling, business intelligence platforms, and data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to communicate insights effectively to executive audiences
  • Experience working with market intelligence and industry data sources such as Circana, Nielsen, NPD/IRI, or equivalent platforms
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to navigate ambiguity, balance competing priorities, and make sound decisions in complex, dynamic environments
  • Experience leveraging competitive, market, customer, and operational data to identify strategic opportunities and shape business direction

Experience

15+ years of combined experience in analytics, business intelligence, financial planning, or consulting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing analytics functions and teams. Demonstrated success in retail, luxury consumer goods, or ecommerce environments. Proven ability to drive organizational transformation through data-driven initiatives and to influence C-suite strategy.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field is required. An MBA or Master's degree in a related discipline is considered a significant asset.

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from CAD 148,600 to CAD 185,800 per annum.
