Sephora — Department Manager (Newmarket, Auckland). Full-time retail management role driving department performance and client experience.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day supervisory oversight of a store department, ensuring seamless store operations and exceptional client service.
- Coach, develop and manage team performance through regular feedback, briefings and on-floor leadership to meet sales and service standards.
- Drive department and store KPIs through targeted selling, product knowledge, merchandising and strategic allocation of resources.
- Act as a point of escalation for client and cast member issues and make operational decisions during core trading hours.
- Support the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with rostering, team planning and execution of store initiatives.
- Deliver personalised product recommendations and an elevated client experience aligned with brand standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years' management experience in a fast-paced, high-volume retail sales environment.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and store KPIs.
- Demonstrable leadership capability with strong emotional intelligence and the ability to influence at all levels.
- Excellent verbal communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with standard retail systems.
- Availability to work a rostered schedule including weekends, early starts and late finishes.
Skills
Experience
Minimum of 3 years' supervisory or managerial experience in high-volume retail, with proven success in driving sales and managing frontline teams.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; tertiary qualification in business, retail management or cosmetology/beauty therapy preferred.
