Sephora seeks a Demand Planning Assistant (Alternance) in Saran, France — join the Europe Supply Chain team for demand forecasting and S&OP support.
Role & Responsibilities
- Produce and correct weekly sales forecasts for European markets, incorporating events, seasonality and external market factors.
- Analyze forecast accuracy and root causes of deviations; propose and implement model and method improvements.
- Validate historical sales data and integrate exceptional sales events into forecasting inputs.
- Monitor forecast alerts and KPIs by country and brand; detect over/under performance and adjust forecasts accordingly.
- Assess promotional impacts and determine required inventory support for promotional events.
- Manage launch and 'one-shot' item forecasting and replenishment; monitor stockouts and adapt supply to observed demand.
- Coordinate with local Supply Chain teams and stakeholders (Commercial, Finance, Marketing) through S&OP meetings and cross-functional updates.
- Align demand scenarios with purchasing budgets, run simulations and challenge inputs to support procurement decisions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects to enhance forecasting processes and overall supply chain efficiency, including support for store openings.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Master's programme in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
- Available to start in September 2026 and commit to the alternance apprenticeship for the minimum duration requested by the programme (minimum one year).
- Strong analytical aptitude with numerical rigour and attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfortable with the wider Microsoft Office suite.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Proactive mindset, good team spirit, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Skills
Experience
Entry-level / internship: academic background in supply chain or engineering. Prior internships or project experience in demand planning, forecasting or logistics is advantageous but not mandatory.
Education
Master's degree in progress (Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial/Industrial Engineering or equivalent).
