Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain SQL Server environments.
  • Deliver scalable database architectures, including data modeling and performance optimization.
  • Manage SQL Server administration tasks such as installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, patching, and upgrades.
  • Implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Develop backup, recovery, and business continuity strategies.
  • Ensure database security through access controls, encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Design and optimize advanced SQL and T-SQL solutions.
  • Work with XML and JSON data structures for data manipulation.
  • Monitor database health and diagnose performance issues.
  • Build and maintain SSIS packages and ETL processes.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, system administrators, and Agile teams for database expertise and query optimization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server in production environments.

Skills

Expert T-SQL proficiency and advanced query optimization skills. Experience with XML and JSON data structures. Ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues. Understanding of relational database design and high-transaction workloads. Expertise in backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions. Experience with PowerShell, GitHub, and Redgate tools. Strong grounding in Windows Server fundamentals relevant to SQL Server. Experience troubleshooting across database and OS layers. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments and ORM-generated SQL.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server in fast-paced, production environments.
