Sephora UK in London seeks a Category Assistant (SEPHORA Collection) to support buying, product launches and supplier coordination.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Category team across the full commercial lifecycle for SEPHORA Collection and owned‑brand projects.
- Liaise with suppliers to gather new line information, ensuring documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
- Assist with trend analysis, forecasting and identification of new brand and product innovations.
- Prepare product nominations and coordinate assets for Marketing, Social and PR activity.
- Analyse sales, margin and performance data to identify opportunities for weekly trade reviews.
- Raise purchase orders for new ranges, promotional buys, samples and ad‑hoc requests, and maintain pricing files and product codes.
- Own resolution of supplier invoice queries in partnership with Finance to resolve pricing discrepancies.
- Manage the call‑in, tracking and coordination of product samples for marketing and retail needs, including retail sampling processes and deadlines.
- Update product data, supplier contacts and pricing information to maintain catalogue accuracy.
- Support ad‑hoc administrative and commercial projects and deputise for the Assistant Category Manager when required.
Qualifications
- Experience in buying, merchandising or a retail head office environment is advantageous.
- Strong numerical and analytical capability with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence handling systems and commercial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to build supplier and cross‑functional relationships.
- Strong organisation and time‑management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently.

Experience
Entry‑level role; prior exposure to buying, merchandising or a retail head‑office function is desirable but not mandatory. The post is suited to candidates with strong commercial aptitude and first experience in analytics or product coordination.
Education
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, Economics or a related discipline preferred.
