Sephora San Mateo (Hillsdale) seeks a Beauty Advisor (Flex). Entry-level, client-facing role — $22.60–$26.00/hr; part-time/flex schedule.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized consultations and tailored product recommendations that address each client’s needs and preferences.
- Demonstrate deep product knowledge across makeup, skincare and fragrance to educate and empower clients.
- Stay current with beauty trends, product launches and application techniques to provide relevant advice.
- Drive sales performance and contribute to store KPIs through relationship-building and consultative selling.
- Support merchandising, inventory management and visual standards to maintain an organized, on-brand selling environment.
- Maintain punctuality and meet the required minimum weekly shifts/hours for the flex scheduling model.
- Uphold company policies and safety standards to ensure a secure and enjoyable shopping experience for clients and colleagues.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture and participate in store training and team initiatives.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail, hospitality or another client-facing environment preferred.
- Passion for beauty and a demonstrable interest in trends, product innovation and application techniques.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a consultative sales mindset.
- Ability to learn quickly and translate product knowledge into clear client education.
- Reliable availability for peak retail hours including nights, weekends and holidays; ability to meet minimum weekly shift requirements.
- Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Experience
Entry-level role; prior retail or client-facing experience is preferred but not required. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent service and develop client relationships is advantageous.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
