The Assistant Store Manager supports Sephora’s Winston-Salem Hanes Mall store by leading operations, developing the team, and elevating client experience and business performance. This is a permanent, full-time, salaried, exempt position requiring on-site work and availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Annual base salary is $60,100–$73,600, depending on qualifications, experience, skills, education, credentials, and geographic location; bonuses may also be available.
Role & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to oversee daily operations, deliver exceptional client experiences, and drive sales and profitability.
- Lead, coach, inspire, and empower the team to meet performance goals while fostering growth, development, and accountability.
- Attract, hire, and onboard talent to build a diverse, inclusive team that reflects Sephora’s values and delivers signature service.
- Support continuous learning through real-time coaching, actionable feedback, and ongoing guidance.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide mentorship and feedback to support team members’ development and engagement.
- Deliver outstanding service, resolve client concerns, and drive engagement through loyalty programs and personalized experiences.
- Maintain a visually inspiring, immaculate store and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and brand guidelines.
- Optimize inventory and staffing resources, adapting to changing priorities and opportunities to drive results.
- Build a supportive store community that helps team members feel valued and positively impacts clients.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success as a retail assistant manager in fast-paced, high-volume environments, driving results and elevating team performance through hands-on leadership.
- Strong leadership and business acumen, with the ability to recruit, inspire, and develop talent to deliver results and foster a collaborative atmosphere.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust, deliver constructive feedback, and facilitate open dialogue.
- Commitment to team development through tailored mentorship, real-time coaching, and actionable feedback.
- Experience creating personalized client experiences that build loyalty while balancing operational priorities and driving business growth.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend and stretch to stock shelves, stand and walk the sales floor for an entire shift, and work in a fragrance-filled environment.
- Ability to handle and apply products to clients, with or without accommodation.
