Assistant Store Manager – Sephora's brand-new Blacktown store in Sydney, Australia. Full-time retail management role with base salary AUD $69,680 plus commission and bonus.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in leading the team to deliver an unbeatable client experience in a fast-paced retail environment
- Utilise data and insights to support operational decisions by working with the Store Manager and District Manager to develop strategies for business growth and sales conversion
- Drive a selling culture within the team to meet KPIs and promote Sephora's values, motivating team members to achieve targets
- Monitor and improve team performance and capability by identifying, developing, and nurturing internal talent
- Implement a continuous improvement mentality and collaborate with the wider team to enhance store operations
- Energise and coach the team to deliver first-class customer service and build brand loyalty through meaningful in-store experiences
- Manage profit and loss accountability by monitoring shrinkage percentages, sales conversion, promoting Sephora Collection products, and forecasting sales to maximise profitability
- Drive operational initiatives including brand events, staff training programmes, and visual merchandising changes to maintain store standards and reflect the Sephora brand and culture
- Foster a strong, positive workplace culture where team members feel valued, recognised, and supported through feedback, coaching, learning opportunities, and recognition
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to store talent development planning
Qualifications
- 2–3+ years' experience in retail or store-level line management
- Previous retail management experience at a big-box retailer or multi-site retail environment
- Demonstrated passion for excellent client service and experiential retail
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and business management skills
- Strong emotional intelligence, communication skills, and ability to influence team members at all levels
- Proven track record in attracting, identifying, and inspiring talented employees
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, late-night shifts, and evenings
- Full availability across key trading times (Thursday–Sunday) including late-night and weekend working
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years in retail management or store operations, with demonstrated experience leading teams in a big-box or multi-site retail setting. Hands-on experience in fast-paced, customer-facing retail environments is essential.
