Sephora is hiring a full-time, permanent Assistant Store Manager for its University Village store in Seattle. The role partners with the Store Manager to lead operations, talent development, client experience, sales, and store performance; it requires on-site work and availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Store Manager to oversee daily operations, deliver exceptional client experiences, and drive sales and profitability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lead, coach, inspire, and empower the team to exceed expectations and performance goals while fostering growth, development, and accountability.
  • Attract, hire, and onboard new talent, building a diverse and inclusive team that reflects Sephora’s values and delivers signature client service.
  • Promote continuous learning through real-time coaching, actionable feedback, and ongoing support.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide actionable feedback and mentorship to support team members’ development and engagement.
  • Deliver outstanding service, resolve client concerns, and drive engagement through loyalty programmes and personalized experiences.
  • Maintain a visually inspiring, immaculate store environment and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and brand guidelines.
  • Optimize inventory and staffing resources, adapting to changing priorities and opportunities to drive results and growth.
  • Lead the store as a supportive community that builds team confidence and positively impacts clients.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success as a retail assistant manager in fast-paced, high-volume environments, driving results and elevating team performance through hands-on leadership.
  • Strong leadership and business acumen, with the ability to recruit, inspire, and develop talent to achieve results and foster a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate open dialogue.
  • Commitment to team coaching and development through tailored mentorship, real-time coaching, and actionable feedback.
  • Experience creating personalized client experiences that build loyalty while balancing operational priorities and driving business growth.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend and stretch to stock shelves, stand and walk the sales floor for an entire shift, and work in a fragrance-filled environment.
  • Able to handle and apply products to clients, with or without accommodation.
