Sephora in Santa Monica is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to lead store operations, team development and client experience (Santa Monica, CA).

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support daily store operations alongside the Store Manager to ensure a seamless client journey and achievement of sales and profitability targets.
  • Coach, inspire and empower store associates through real-time feedback, structured development and performance appraisals to maximise team capability and engagement.
  • Recruit, onboard and retain diverse talent aligned with brand standards and service culture.
  • Drive client engagement through personalised service, loyalty programme activation and effective issue resolution.
  • Maintain operational excellence by enforcing visual merchandising standards, inventory accuracy, loss-prevention protocols, and compliance with brand procedures.
  • Optimise staffing and inventory allocation to respond to peak periods, promotional activity and local market opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of progressive retail experience with proven success in assistant management or supervisory roles in high-volume environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people development skills, including recruiting, coaching and conducting performance reviews.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving sales, margin and operational KPIs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; adept at building trust with clients and colleagues.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays; ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and applying product to clients.

Experience
